Right from the time you open your eyes, you have a handmaiden by your side
From folding the sheets to doing your bed, and to putting that toothpaste tube in the stand
Moving that water jug you left by the chair to its place where tomorrow you will scour
Closing that wardrobe door after you have dressed, to flushing that toilet you have sat
Answering every time you ask where is the sugar? To finding you the things you need for the hour
We put up with every tantrum you had and tried to answer every question you flared
Picking your used plates, to doing the dishes, I have seen everything you have shared
This is us for you. Some call us mothers, some call us daughters, sisters, others call us wives!
